South Sulawesi Governor Hina Kahar Muzakar Rebels, Makassar Heats Up!

Dozens of Makassar city student activists and youth organizations condemned the words of South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo to fight the rebels.
The statement was expressed by Syahrul, who is also the Regional Chairperson of the South Sulawesi ABRI Family Communication Forum (FKPPI) when opening the FKPPI XIX regional leadership meeting (rapimda) at Baruga Sangiaseri, the governor's house, Jl Sungai Tangka, Makassar, yesterday.

Those who criticized, members of the Laskar Merah Putih led by General Taufik, an alliance of Makassar students coordinated by Suherdi, a member of the anti-drug movement, Pemuda Pancasila Mamajang, member of the People's Advocacy Institute (Laskar), Suburban Student Front (FMP), activist Student University of Indonesia Muslim ( UMI), and the young Kahar fighters coordinator, combined with Basdir's actions.

"We condemn the words of governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo about the rebels, it is very inappropriate for a governor to say that. Especially now there is no such thing as a rebellion which results in nation's disintegration," Taufik said in the editorial of Tribun Timur, Jl Cenderawasih, Makassar, Saturday (9 / 6/2012).
"We condemn Syahrul's statement because it is very provocative and impressed as a terror that leads to fighting sheep and will lead to violence for the people of South Sulawesi. Precisely what must be resisted is social security, nepotism and drugs that are rampant in all circles, stop drugs, stop terror," Suherdi criticized .

Meanwhile the oldest son Kahar MudzakkarHasan Kamal Mudzakkar, who is also the Chairperson of the Qahhar Mudzakkar Community Family Communication Forum and relatives, took offense at the invitation of the Governor of South Sulawesi, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, to fight rebels identical to the pro generation of Kahar Muzakar in South Sulawesi.

Syahrul, who is also the Chairperson of the Regional Administration (PD) of the South Sulawesi ABRI Retired Communication Forum (FKPPI), said that when he opened the Regional Leadership Meeting (Rapimda) FKPPI XIX in Baruga Sangiaseri, the governor's house, Jl Sungai Tangka, Makassar, yesterday.

According to Kamal, Syahrul's words were also the Chairperson of the South Sulawesi Golkar Party's Regional Leadership Council (DPD), a manifestation of the ambivalence of Syahrul's attitude.

"On various occasions he invited other candidates to realize peaceful elections and at other moments he seemed to be preparing militias to fight other parties that could potentially create chaos in the moment of elections. My question is, who is the rebel who must be crushed," he told Tribun Timur (Tribunnews.com group), Makassar, Saturday (06/09/12).

"It should be understood that if we are fighters at the same time we are also labeled as rebels by the occupiers. DI / TII is part of the history of this nation's journey and that has passed, that history must be seen in its time. We as sons and daughters Abd Kahar Mudzakkar and also by many people of South Sulawesi are always amazed by his figure, "Kamal added.

But, continued Kamal, Kahar was an ordinary human being who certainly could not be separated from shortcomings. So for the moment of the South Sulawesi Pilgub, let us realize the spirit of brotherhood even in the atmosphere of competition.
