US Students Boycott Israeli Products

US College has joined an international campaign to boycott Israeli products to protest Tel Aviv's illegal land seizure policy and destruction of houses on Palestinian land.

The Flaming Eggplant
, a student-run cafe at Evergreen State College in Olympia in Washington, has announced that students have chosen to boycott Israeli products from illegal Jewish settlements on occupied Palestinian land to end their college involvement in Israeli violations of Palestinian rights, according to report Olympiabds.org.

Students said buying Israeli goods was contrary to their mission to "support political participation and direct action to create a just and egalitarian society."

"We are proud to join a nonviolent movement to pressure Israel to end human rights abuses against Palestinians," they said in a statement.

The Flaming Eggplant is the most recent business to join the international movement Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions - BDS) against Israeli products from Jewish settlements.

University students in the US, UK and Belgium also called for an academic boycott of Israel over Tel Aviv's mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners, expanding illegal Jewish settlements on occupied land, and terrorizing Gaza.
