Syrian Resistance Makes Frustrating Enemies

Syrian army, struggling and will win

Iran's deputy foreign minister congratulated the Syrian nation on the great victory of the Syrian military that cleansed the al-Qaeda terrorist network, the al-Nusra Front and the FSA.

"The Syrian people have frustrated their enemies with resistance," Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Deputy Minister of Iranian Foreign Affairs for Arab and African Affairs, said on Thursday (5/23/13).

In the past few days, the Syrian army has inflicted heavy losses on foreign-backed terrorists in the city of Qusair, which has been a year of intense clashes between the two sides.

On May 21, the high-ranking terrorist commander of the al-Nusra Front, Abu Omar, along with dozens of other anti-Damascus forces were killed in battle with government forces.

Amir-Abdollahian also denied allegations that Iran was providing military support to the Syrian army and said the Arab country did not need the assistance.

He also commented on 11 countries "Friends of Syria" in Yirdania which issued a joint statement in support of terrorists and said, "We strongly support Syria in combating the evil of terrorism and international organized crime against this country."

He added that Iran would continue to increase its efforts to stop violence in Syria and encourage national dialogue between representatives of the Syrian government and the main opposition groups who believe in political solutions to the Syrian crisis.
